The Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Youth Affairs, Usman Dar, visited OICCI on February 10, 2022, to discuss internships of youth in corporate sector at a large scale.

Secretary General OICCI, M. Abdul Aleem, briefly introduced the chamber and participants that included senior executives from Meezan Bank, Engro Corp and PepsiCo.

Usman Dar highlighted the salient features of Kamyab Jawan Program being successfully run by the government, under which scholarships, internships and SME loans are provided to the youth of Pakistan. He requested the OICCI members to extend large scale internships to the youth, registered under Kamyab Jawan Program, at their facilities so that they can get familiar with corporate culture and practices of international standards.

SG OICCI shared the publication, OICCI Recommendations on Digital Economy, with the SAPM and advised him to adopt the recommendations which are largely related to youth and high-tech IT skills. He also mentioned that OICCI members from IT Sector have already offered their services and course material of international standards to the youth of Pakistan with support of the government.

The SAPM assured to look into the recommendations. The meeting concluded on the vote of thanks.
