The session on Petrochemical Supply Chain Digitalization, an initiative of the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), was held on September 22, 2025, and led by Mr. Faisal Amir, IT Subcommittee member and Chief Information Officer at PARCO - Pak-Arab Refinery Limited who were welcomed to the Chamber by Executive Director Kashif Shafi. The session highlighted the importance of digitalizing Pakistan’s oil supply chain through technology, with discussions focusing on centralized data systems, ERP integration, and digital applications to enhance transparency and monitoring. Participants agreed that digitalization is essential for improving operational efficiency, reducing losses, and enabling faster decision-making across the sector. The initiative is currently in its initial phase, which includes the establishment of monitoring systems and the rollout of digital tools. However, participants also acknowledged key challenges such as connectivity gaps, system integration complexities, and cost implications. The session emphasized the importance of strong collaboration among regulators, oil companies, and technology partners to ensure successful implementation. The initiative aims to achieve broad coverage of the oil supply chain by 2026, delivering significant benefits in efficiency, governance, and sustainability. Participants also stressed the importance of stakeholder participation and phased implementation to track progress and address emerging challenges effectively.
