OICCI organized an Exclusive Interactive Session on Pakistan’s Economic Outlook and Business Implications featuring Khurram Husain, Business Journalist & Economy Expert on January 20, 2025.
He was welcomed by M Abdul Aleem, SG OICCI, Kashif Shafi, Executive Director and Humayoun Khan, Corporate Communications Lead. Opening remarks were delivered by Kashif Shafi.
Khurram Husain shared a business-focused perspective on Pakistan’s macroeconomic landscape and its implications for decision-makers. He provided insights into Pakistan’s external sector dynamics, exchange rate behavior, foreign exchange liquidity, volatility trends, and the role of institutional buffers in maintaining macroeconomic stability. He emphasized how shifts in key indicators influence business planning, investment decisions, and market expectations, while also outlining potential risks and the near-term outlook for the economy.
The discussion further explored the relationship between stabilization efforts, IMF programs, capital markets, and growth prospects, highlighting the need for disciplined macroeconomic management alongside a coherent growth strategy.
