Makhdoom Khusro Bukhtiar, Federal Minister for Industries & Production Division on May 20, 2021 had a virtual meeting, on Thursday, May 20, 2021 2021, to discuss the matters relating to Industrial policy, especially those relating to upcoming Budgetary measures. He was accompanied by Mr. Abdul Razak Dawood, Advisor to PM for Commerce and Investment, Dr. Muhammad Sohail Rajput, Federal Secretary Ministry of Industries & Production and Mr. Almas Hyder, Chairman, Engineering Development Board (EDB) Board of Management.

OICCI was represented by the President Irfan Siddiqui, MC members, CE/Secretary General, M. Abdul Aleem, and a few Trade and Industry Subcommittee members. Abdul Aleem, presented the brief profile of the OICCI, including a snapshot of the members contribution to the economy, role of the chamber in facilitating FDI in the country, result of research studies done by the chamber and members’ perspective for future investment in the country.

The Minister gave a brief perspective of the way forward for the industrial and manufacturing sector in the country and requested OICCI members support for industrial growth in the country. Irfan Siddiqui assured full support of OICCI members for all initiatives of the government for expansion of the industrial base.

A number of participants presented their specific issues, and requested the minister to address the concerns of the manufacturing sector. Makhdoom Khusro Bukhtiar and Mr. Razak Dawood, offered support to resolve OICCI members’ concerns and emphasized on the need for regular dialogue to better understand the business climate and confidence of foreign investors, operating in Pakistan.
