A delegation from the Large Taxpayers Unit (LTU), led by Chief Commissioner Mr. Zubair Bilal, visited the Overseas Investors Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OICCI) on July 23, 2025 to engage in a constructive dialogue on key taxation matters. The delegation was welcomed by OICCI Secretary General Mr. M Abdul Aleem and Lead Research Officer Ms. Sakina Chakera.

During the meeting, Mr. Abdul Aleem briefed the delegation on OICCI’s core activities and advocacy efforts aimed at improving the business climate in Pakistan. He highlighted the long-standing concerns of OICCI members regarding tax refunds and stressed the importance of building a more robust and transparent relationship between LTU, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), and the business community.

Responding to the concerns, Chief Commissioner Zubair Bilal acknowledged the impact of delayed tax refunds on liquidity and cash flow for businesses. He emphasized the need for a more streamlined and predictable refund mechanism and suggested that OICCI be represented by both a subject expert and an IT expert in future meetings with the Federal Ministry of Finance to address technical and procedural challenges effectively.

The session concluded with an engaging Q&A segment, allowing members to directly raise issues and seek clarifications.
