Arno Kirchhof, Deputy Head of Mission, German Embassy Islamabad visited OICCI for a courtesy meeting on June 23, 2026.

He was welcomed by OICCI SG M Abdul Aleem, Executive Director, Kashif Shafi, and Senior Research Officer, Hasan Rashid. Senior representatives from OICCI member companies, including Managing Director DHL Global Forwarding Pakistan, Jaffar Hussain, Managing Director DHL Pakistan, Usman Wali, and Managing Director, Siemens Energy, Syed Nadeem Ali Kazmi.

The meeting commenced with M. Abdul Aleem, Secretary General OICCI, providing an overview of the Chamber’s role, key initiatives, and ongoing efforts to promote a conducive business and investment environment in Pakistan.

Discussions focused on Pakistan’s investment climate, ease of doing business, and the need to address regulatory and operational bottlenecks. Participants exchanged views on measures to enhance competitiveness, strengthen investor confidence, and attract greater foreign direct investment.

Arno Kirchhof observed that Pakistan remains a market with significant long-term potential, supported by its large workforce, while highlighting the importance of further investment in skills development to meet evolving industry needs.

Participants acknowledged the progress made in macroeconomic stabilization and noted that the policy focus should increasingly shift towards enabling economic growth, investment, and productivity. The importance of maintaining a supportive business environment and addressing private sector concerns was highlighted as a key factor in sustaining investor confidence and unlocking Pakistan’s economic potential.
