Tomoya Kondo – Deputy General Manager of Basic Chemicals Dept. (Mitsubishi Corporation) and Hisashi Fukumoto – General Manager (Engro Polymers) visited OICCI on November 20, 2023 to gain OICCI’s perspective about doing business in Pakistan and investment opportunities, particularly the economic situation. The guests were welcomed by M Abdul Aleem, Secretary General (OICCI).

M. Abdul Aleem shared a presentation which included OICCI’s brief profile, a snapshot of the members contribution to the economy, and the economic outlook of Pakistan, particularly with regards to FDI. Discussing the current economic challenges, the delegate was briefed about the impact of recent policy reforms which have helped mitigate the impact of the economic burden on investors in the past year.

Tomoyo Kondo sought OICCI’s position on investment and business conditions in Pakistan and appreciated OICCI’s efforts in sharing a holistic and objective view of the business environment in Pakistan, and the with their in-depth analysis of how Pakistan was slowly navigating out of the current economic crisis.
