Khashih ur Rehman – Executive Director General, BoI, and Suriya Jamal – Director General, BoI, along with their team visited the Overseas Investors Chamber of Commerce and Industries on August 12, 2022. They were welcomed by M. Abdul Aleem – CE/Secretary General, OICCI, and Kashif Shafi – Executive Director, OICCI. They visited the Chambers to apprise members of the opportunities under the next phase of CPEC.

Khashish ur Rehman highlighted how under the next phase of CPEC, the major focus of the Board of Investment (BoI) will rest on industrial relocation. The main focus of the next phase of CPEC will be moving from Government-to-Government (G2G) agreements to Business to Business (B2B) agreements. BoI will be assisting in connecting Chinese investors with local and foreign investors present in Pakistan. He also shared a list of interested Chinese investors which will be provided upon request.

M. Abdul Aleem concluded the session by thanking Khashish ur Rehman and his team for their time. He also shared areas where BoI can improve in terms of facilitating investors, especially with regards to increasing BoI’s effectiveness.
