H.E. Mr Adam Thomson, British High Commissioner to Pakistan visited the Overseas Investors’ Chamber of Commerce & Industry (OICCI) to discuss issues hampering growth and development in the country.

The delegation included Mr Robert Gibson, British Deputy High Commissioner, and Director UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) Pakistan, Mr Ahmer Arif, Deputy Director UKTI Pakistan, and Mr Fenton Whelan, Educational Consultant, Department for International Development (DFID), UK. The meeting was attended by members of the Managing Committee of OICCI and its member companies.

Mr Adam Thomson appreciated the overall investment climate in Pakistan and the role played by the OICCI’s towards developing the country’ economy. He added that it was Britain’s intention to invest in educational development throughout the country and asked for OICCI’s cooperation in supporting this initiative.. He shared his government’s belief that access to proper education, better job opportunities, and higher living standards could help improve the law and order situation of Pakistan.
