H.E. Mr Tim George, Australian High Commissioner to Pakistan visited the Overseas Investors’ Chamber of Commerce & Industry (OICCI) to discuss investment opportunities in the country.
The delegation included Mr Peter Linford, Australia’s Senior Trade Commissioner for South Asia, Mr Jon Bonnar, First Secretary (Political) Australian High Commission and Mr Bazl Khan, Australian Consul General and Karachi based Trade Representative. The meeting was attended by members of the Managing Committee of OICCI and the Secretary General.
Mr Tim George appreciated the overall investment climate in Pakistan and the role played by the OICCI’s members towards developing the country’s economy. He further added that it was the intention of the Australian government to bring their investors, particularly those based in Dubai, to Pakistan. He said his government was looking towards areas of opportunities where potential investment could be made and asked for OICCI’s support in identifying such sunrise industries. He also shared that the Australian government was interested in the livestock and dairy industry of Pakistan and was exploring the possibilities of investment in this particular sector.
